Salar de Uyuni, Bolivia - 23 May 2018 The Uyuni Salt Flats of Bolivia are one of the great natural wonders of the planet. Covering over 10,000 square kilometres, they are the largest in the world; at over 3600m elevation, they are also amongst the highest. Set in this blinding white ocean of salt are a number of oasis-like rocky outcrops. Probably the most scenic of these is Incahuasi - shown here - with its dense forest of stately cactus. From the top, there is a surreal view of these plants and the endless sea of salt. Magnificent!
