Keratoacanthoma, dermoscopy. A keratoacanthoma lesion consists of a localised proliferation of squamous cells that forms a cratered nodule. The nodule grows over several weeks before gradually disappearing. The cause of keratoacanthoma is unknown, although exposure to sunlight appears to be a factor.
