Beweinung Christi. The lamentation of Christ. c1460-1465. The panel originates from the high alter of the Chapel of the Order of St John in Haarlem. The alter is the masterpiece by Geertgen tot Sint Jans, the most important master of Dutch painting of the 15th century.
