NASA's Space Launch System (SLS) rocket and Orion spacecraft on top of the mobile launcher at Launch Pad 39 B, NASA's Kennedy Space Center, Florida, USA, prior to the uncrewed Artemis I test flight. Artemis I mission, which is scheduled to launch on the 29th of August 2022, will orbit both the Earth and Moon and cover a distance over 450,000 kilometres away from Earth. This is longer and further than any spacecraft designed to carry humans has flown before. The Artemis program aims to land the first woman and the next man on the Moon by 2024.
