An iconic piece of New York grandiose architecture, the Rockefeller Center is a large complex of commercial, business and retail buildings located between 48th Street and 51st Street in Midtown Manhattan, New York City. Here we see mixed messages in the famous sculpture by Lawrie Lee which stands above the central GE building entrance. The quote praising wisdom and knowledge is from the book of Isaiah, 33: 6. But the striking figure, seems to personify raw power. The GE Building was renamed the Comcast Building in 2014. Names change, but the sculpture lives on.
