Dromia vulgaris; Print; Dromia personata is a species of crab found in the North Sea; the Mediterranean Sea; and connecting parts of the northeastern Atlantic Ocean. It grows up to a carapace length of 53 millimetres (2.1 in); and lives mainly from the lower shore to a depth of 8 metres (26 ft); or occasionally to 100 metres (330 ft); and often in caves. The last two pairs of legs are positioned dorsally; and are used by young crabs to hold a sponge in place as camouflage.
