Tuscany; Siena; ancient hospital Santa Maria della Scala (today complex of museums): relief with symbol of a Heavenly Ladder with three steps ("Faith; love; hope") and crowned cross at old brick wall of the Hospital; the Ospedale di Santa Maria della Scala was built at the steps to the Siena Cathedral and was in teh beginning used as a pilgrims hostel and orphanage.
