From 1731 to 1750; Diego Bordick Deverez was in charge; but construction works of the factory were realized from 1733 to 1735; only. In 1750; Flemish engineer Sebastian Van der Borcht took over and completed the building; until 1770; as the real architect of the factory. In the 1950s; the building became seat of the Rectorate of the University of Seville.
