Physicists Mauro Paoluzzi (left) and Chihiro Ohmori (right) standing next to new cavities built for the Proton Synchrotron Booster. The cavities were built as part of a collaboration between CERN, the Europan particle physics laboratory and KEK, Japan's High Energy Accelerator Research Organization. The Proton Synchrotron Booster accelerates protons from the linear accelerator Linac 2 and accelerates them for injection into the Proton Synchrotron (PS). Photographed on the 13th of October 2017.
