Fossilised tooth of a Phytosaurus from the Rhaetian age (Late Triassic), dating 205 million years ago, in what is now Nancy, France. This tooth measures 5cm long. Phytosaurs are a group of extinct semi-aquatic animals that resembled modern-day crocodilians in appearance and lived during the Late Triassic (around 230-200 million years ago).
