The barrel starts straight and round and then narrows slightly towards the center and then becomes wider and oval towards the trumpet; the barrel is stamped with a sign of two crossed anchors with an A and a W; the emblem of the Admiralty of West Frisia; and the coat of arms of Amsterdam. The stock is simply cut and ends in an unadorned; solid wood stock knob.
