Wine glass commemorating the wedding and birthday of Elisabeth van de Wall Chalice on the wedding day and birthday of Elisabeth van de Wall; Conical foot with pontil brand. The trunk made up of a baluster and a nodus; in which air bubbles have been inserted. Slightly concave curved cup with rounded bottom. Two performances are engraved on the chalice within rococo-volutes: a maternity woman with a child on her lap in a maternity room and the second an allegorical representation on the wedding presented by a man and a woman at an altar; an angel with a burning torch and god with a column and a staff. The date with the delivery room has the date '21 February 1705 'and under the allegorical representation the date '21 .Febru.1729'. There is the following poem between the two performances: When Van de Wall mated with Steen; Her heart and nut lottery; It was precisely with a De Dagh that She envied. Now that Feast is being rescheduled; And I have begun to wander; To be full; And to be drunk empty; Out of love; to fall away; 'Van Steen and Van de Wall. H. Zweerts.1742 The monogram 'E (?).
