The Triumph of Eternity The Triumph of Eternity The Triumph of Faith; Round stained glass with representation of the Triumph of Eternity. The Eternity is represented by Christ; on a classic cart drawn by a lion and an ox; symbols of the evangelists Mark and Luke; and accompanied by the angel of Matthew and the eagle of John. Christ holds a scepter in one hand and a globe divided into three segments in the other hand. The victory cart rides on a ground of clouds. Under the cart are people scattered across the ground who triumphed in other scenes from Petrarch's 'I Trionfi'; the Love; the Chastity; the Fame and the Time. Behind the cart Death tumbles out of the clouds. Below; hell and purgatory are presented; from which a devil rises.
