Strip of spool lace with spruce and rosette or 'gran ros'; Natural spool of lace strip; Swedish lace. The strip is attached to pins on a light blue cardboard with seven other strips. Above the strip on the cardboard is' Laces from Dalecarlia. (Dalarna) 'written and below it' Furtree-Rose. (gran ros) '; where Furtree should probably have been' fir tree '; which means fir in English and which can be translated into' gran 'in Swedish. The pattern is formed by a bundle of threads; worked through a mesh ground; a diamond-shaped straw grid. The threads form the contours of a stylized spruce with in addition a stylized rosette with four diamond-shaped contours around a simple ornamental ground of four large round meshes. Along the top of the strip two linen triangles have been made between these motifs. The top and bottom of the strip are straight finished and provided with picots.
