Climbers exercising above the Chemin de la m?ture. This path was opened in the cliffs in the 17th century under the reign of Louis XIV, and was used to bring down trees (beech and fir) from the Pacq forest to the arsenals of the Royal Navy. The oxen teams brought the trunks down to the Gave d'Aspe to be floated to Bayonne. Aspe Valley, Atlantic Pyrenees, France.
