Dermatitis herpetiformis (DH, or Duhring's disease) on the wrist of a 36 year old Hispanic female patient. DH causes chronic, severely itchy skin blisters similar in appearance to herpes but is not related to or caused by herpes infection. The exact cause is unknown but a connection between DH and coeliac disease (gluten allergy) has been shown.
