He looks up from his work in a moment of confusion. A young draftsman is at work in the painter's studio as well. Seated in the back; he peers out at a noble lady and her daughter who are posing for a portrait. Might the execution of these works; which reveal a rather modest skill level of the painter; have been part of a young artist's education?
