Jaime Rooke Park is named to honor James Rook (1770 - 1819); a British commander who lead the British Legions (also: British Legion) in the army of Simon de Bolivar. He lost his live on 28th of July 1819; three days after the decisive victory in the Vargas Swamp Battle (Battala del Paludo de Vargas); on 25th of July; 1819.
