Germany; State of Brandenburg; city of Teltow: Stubenrauch Monument (also: Stubenrauch Fountain); built 1908 by sculptor Ferdinand Lepcke (1866 - 1909); inaugurated 25th of October 1908; German Ernst von Stubenrauch (1853 - 1909) was from 1885 to 1908 the district councilor of the district of Teltow which existed until 1952. In 1908; he became President of the Police forces in Berlin; but died one year later of cancer. Stubenrauch initiated the construction of the 38;39 km long Teltow Canal (German: Teltowkanal) which was built 1900 - 1906. The canal connects river Havel and river Dahme; a tributary of river Spree. Stubenrauch was honored with this monument; which originally was a fountain and had two side parts with bronze reliefs showing women sculptures; representing the rivers Havel and Spree. Now both side parts are lost. The bronze bust of Ernst von Stubenrauch in the central part of the mounument was as well realized by Ferdinand Lepcke.
