City of Suzhou: Site at The Humble Administrator's Garden; This Chinese garden is one of the most famous in Suzhou. The garden (5.2 ha) is the largest in Suzhou and considered one of the finest gardens in Southern China. Built during the Shaoxing period (1131 - 1162); it was modified; continually. It was the residence and garden of Lu Guimeng; a Tang Dynasty scholar. In Yuan Dynasty; it became the Dahong Temple's garden. Since 1997; it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It has four particular components: the stone; the plant; the architecture and the water. Suzhou is a big city in Jiangsu Province; East China; 100 km northwest of Shanghai; Suzhou is on the Lake Tai Plain south of the Yangtze River. Founded in 514 BC; Suzhou has many sites of historical interest.
