This engraving depicts Sukkot also known as the Feast of Tabernacles, a Jewish holiday celebrated over one week that comes five days after Yom Kippur (day of atonement). Sukkot celebrates the gathering of the harvest and commemorates the years that the Jews spent in the desert on their way to the Promised Land, celebrating the way in which God protected them under the difficult desert conditions they had to endure. Sukkot are hut-like structures that Jews are expected to dwell in during this week long holiday. Date:
