Sara Seager (born 1971), Canadian-US planetary scientist and physicist, with a radio telescope. Seager is Professor of Physics and Professor of Planetary Science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) where she has worked since 2007, becoming a full professor in 2010. Her work is on extrasolar planets and their atmospheres. She has developed the Saeger equation (similar to the Drake equation) to estimate the number of habitable planets in the galaxy. Her awards include the 2012 Sackler Prize. She has published the textbooks 'Exoplanets' (2010) and 'Exoplanet Atmospheres' (2010).
