Descent of Cunegonde of Luxembourg, Genealogia sancte kunegundis imperatricis (title on object), Liber Chronicarum (series title), Pedigree on the descent of Cunegonde of Luxembourg. She remained a virgin in marriage to King Henry II of Germany, became Empress of the Holy Roman Empire. After his death she retired to an abbey. The family tree is made up of roots with calyxes. In the middle, Cunegunde's father, named Siegfried of Luxembourg. He is said to be through a descendant of Charlemagne. Siegfried and his wife are therefore flanked in this family tree by Charles the Bald and Louis II, two sons of Louis the Pious, the son of Charlemagne. At the top are three other children of Siegfried: Diederik (Bishop of Metz), Adalbero and Henry (Duke of Bavaria).
