Cardiac output examinations. Coloured coronary angiograms (blood vessel X-rays, top) and ventriculograms (heart ventricle X-rays, bottom) taken to assess the left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) of the heart of a 56 year old male patient. LVEF is a measure of how much of the blood in the heart's left lower chamber (ventricle) leaves it each time the heart contracts. An ejection fraction between 50 and 70 per cent is considered normal.
