Light micrograph showing an intradermal nevus on hairy skin. Ac common acquired intradermal nevus is a benign proliferation of melanocytes. They appear as round, well defined, amelanotic, raised papules. Microscopically they consist of strands or nests of melanocytes, small cells with scant cytoplasm and regular nuclei separated by collagenous stroma.
