General Eisenhower, Godfather, Attends Christening of Lord Tedder's Son -- Lady Tedder shows baby Richard Seton Tedder to godfather General Eisenhower (left) after the christening, Lord Tedder (on right) appears to be making fatherly noises. General Dwight Eisenhower was godfather when the baby son of Marshal of the Royal Air Force Lord Tedder and Lady Tedder was christened in the 800-year-old St. Margaret's Chapel of Edinburgh Castle. The baby was named Richard Seton. Lord Tedder, now Chief of the British Air Staff, was deputy to General Eisenhower when he was Supreme Allied Commander in Europe. The General, staying in Scotland with his wife and son, Captain John Eisenhoer, was fulfilling a series of engagements in Edinburgh. October 4, 1946.
