Zorastrians are a remnant of the ancient Iranian fire-worshippers who followed the system of belief founded by Zoraster (c628 BC-c551 BC); Iranian prophet and reformer. Called Gabars (Guebres) by Muslims; they survived in pockets in Islamic Iran from 635 AD and from the 10th century in India with the Parsees (Parsis). 19th century. Engraving.
