(61.28 x 50.8 cm) (canvas), Oil on canvas, Scotland, 19th century, William Dyce was a religious and historical painter whose style and erudite subject matter allied him to the German Nazarenes and anticipated the interests of the English Pre-Raphaelites. Identified in Genesis as Abraham's Syrian steward, Eliezer of Damascus is one of the less prominent characters in the Bible.
