C.H.S. watercolor drawings of Indians of North; South; and Central American; the West Indies; and Mexico; copied from various sources; ca. 1843-ca. 1850 Drawing No. 6. Man stands with spear; fringed leggings; belt of white tails; mallet or shaker; necklace of claws; and septum piercing. Woman stands next to him with fishing pole or spear; basket of fish; checkered skirt; and moccasins. The baby on her back has horizontal board on its head for "flattening" (thus the "Flatheads"--however; this tribe never really engaged in this practice). They stand near a creek amid pine trees. by C. H. S.
