Neolithic standing stones. These stones are part of Avebury stone circle, a Neolithic monument in Avebury, Wiltshire, UK, that dates from around 4600 years ago. The monument contains the largest stone circle in Europe, and is one of the best known prehistoric sites in Britain. It consists of three stone circles and earthworks, known as dykes, situated in a large ditch.
