Venus of Gava, a prehistoric idol which was found in 7 pieces during the excavations of Gava Mines, Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. These mines were active between 4200 and 3400 BCE (Neolithic period). The Venus of Gava depicts a pregnant woman, and may have been a fertility idol, or a representation of Mother Earth. It is one of few pieces of evidence regarding religion in the Neolithic society that existed here.
