The thumb and forefinger of both hands touch at the tips to form a circle, which represents the 'Wheel of Dharma' or the union of method and wisdom. The three extended fingers on the right hand represent the Buddha's teachings and the extended fingers on the left hand symbolise the 'Three Jewels of Buddhism'. These are the Buddha, the Dharma (the underlying order of nature and life) and the Sangha (the community responsible for spreading the teachings of the Buddha).
