Litter of young southern white-breasted hedgehogs (Erinaceus concolor). This hedgehog, also known as Eastern European hedgehog, is an omnivore and has been known to eat a wide range of invertebrates, but prefers earthworms, slugs and snails. It will also eat frogs, small reptiles, young birds and mice, carrion, bird eggs, acorns and berries. it is mainly a nocturnal animal. Photographed, israel in April.
