The Western Cape floods of 2023 were a series of devastating floods that occurred in the Western Cape province of South Africa due to heavy rainfall on 24-25 September 2023. These floods resulted in at least 11 fatalities, closure of over 200 roads, and left over 80,000 people without electricity. The damage to the agricultural sector caused by the floods was estimated to be over 1.4 billion South African Rand.
