Light micrograph of parenchyma and xylem tissues in a female cone of Pinus sp. (ls). We can see a conductive bundle (xylem) embedded in parenchyma cells: in the xylem the tracheas differentiate clearly with annular thickenings on their walls; the parenchyma cells show the cell wall (thin and flexible), nucleus and other cytoplasmic structures. The vascular tissue xylem transpor water and some nutrients through the plant. The parenchyma cells forms the iller?tissue in the soft parts of plants. They carry metabolic functions: photosynthesis, synthesize and store organic products, secretion, aeration, wound repair; and they have too support function. The pine is a evergreen conifer resinous and aromatic tree of the genus Pinus in the family Pinaceae. It has very importance in bioenergy (as biomasa), forestry and ecology.
