The artist of the fine plates is a mystery: the title bouquet has the signature of Paul Theodor van Brussel (1754-1795); the Dutch flower painter; and one auricula is 鈥榙rawn from life' by A. Bres. According to Hunt; 30 plates show the influence of the famous French artist Nicolas Robert (1614-1685).
