Mr Levi Fox , MA, FSA , Director and deputy chairman of the 1964 Shakespeare Anniversary Council in the Bard's birthplace of Stratford-on-Avon , presents a copy of Shakespeare's plays and a medallion of the Bard to Miss Mary Harrisson of Paarl , Cape Province , South Africa , when she visited the new Shakespeare Centre. Mary, the winner of the Shakespeare competitiion held in schools throughout South Africa won a two week trip to Britain during the Shakespeare celebrations , which really get underway on 23rd April , William Shakespeare 's 400th birthday . 21 April 1964
