'Full Speed Ahead' Navy's New Jet Trials - 'Trial run' The Navy's Motor Gunboat 2009 seen out on trial in the Solent to-day. Undergoing full power trials in the Solent to-day (Thursday), was the Royal Navy's Motor Gunboat 2009 which has been re-fitted with an improved and more powerful Gas Turbine-engine. Tests for endurance and maneuverability will be made and the running will continue until the new engine has completed between 300-400 hours running time.
