P & O. "Chusan". Built 1852. 699 tons, 80 Horse Power. The "Chusan" was the first P. & O. mail steamer to Australia. She left Southampton on 15th May, 1852, and arrived Sydney Aug. 3rd, 80 days later. A great reception was given to the ship on her arrival. April 25, 1938.
