The new United States luxury liner, the SS Constitution, scheduled to serve ports in the Mediterranean, accommodates 1,000 passengers and can be converted to carry 5,000 troops. With her sister ship, the SS Independence, she is the fastest and most modern vessel in the U.S. merchant marine.
