Siloli Desert, Bolivia - 25 May 2018 Desierto de Siloli is a high, dry mountain desert located in the Altiplano of southwestern Bolivia; most of the it lies at an altitude of about 4500 meters above sea level. It is a harsh and unforgiving place - starved of oxygen, bone dry and seared by sun and UV. But it is also surreal and startlingly beautiful. Here I have folded the image to accentuate its bold forms, making the vivid mountains appear to float in space...
