POLYCHROME STUCCO RELIEF WITH THE VIRGIN AND CHILD.
North Italy. Presumably 2nd half of the 15th century.

Stucco; polychromed and gilt. Gilt wooden frame in velvet-covered frame mounting. In the centre Mary; holding the Christ Child in her hands; which looks at the viewer with
arms and legs spread out. Upper left and right floating cherubs; carrying a red mantle of
honour. Escutcheons on the lower picture edge of the picture; initially certainly showing
the donor coat of arms. Measurements relief: 38 x 47 cm. Frame: 49.5 x 58cm. Condition C.
