Swiss pine carved and partly polychromed. Iron mount. On the front sitting young man with flowers and inscription. On the lid locket with female head and heart-shaped shield. 24x35x23cm. Monogrammed with HS above the young man. Condition B.

Heinz Schiestl was a famous W黵zburg sculptor and graphic artist. His work is strongly influenced by the Franconian Gothic and in particular by the work of Tilmann Riemenschneider. In addition to sculptures and church furnishings; Schiestl also created furniture and entire room furnishings. In the W黵zburger Ratskeller there is a parlour completely furnished by him; the so-called Schiestl Stube.Art trade; Van Ham.
